E Começa o Outono - And the Autumn Begins
As temperaturas variaram de 14 a 20 graus!
September has been exceptionally good regarding weather.Temperatures varied between 14 to 20 Celsius! So it was possible to wear summer clothes along the whole month. Besides, it almost didn't rain, and when it did, it was something quick, and not that eternal rain so typical in Ireland.
But the autumn can already be seen on the streets!!!
The leaves are making a real natural rug on the ground. And we are already loosing hours of sun light. If until very recently it was still bright at 9 PM, now around 7:30 PM it is already dark. It is a strange feeling because it seems the days are becoming much shorter. This is what affects us the most, because the winter itself and the low temperatures are not a big problem for us.
On the last post (read below) we spoke about Coole Park, one of the favorite parks of the Irish writer and Literature Nobel Prize W. B. Yeats. A few quilometers from there is Thoor Ballylee, which was Yeats' house. It is a fortified tower house built on the 16th Century.Lá viveu com a família até 1929.
Provavelmente devido a algum dano sofrido.
In 1917 Yeats fell in love by the nature in the region and purchased the Tower for 35 pounds! He lived there with his family until 1929. After that, the house was abandoned for a long time.
You feel a great sensation of peace and tranquility when you walk around the region. These girls decided to make a peaceful picnic, and took their dog along.
Both Coole Park and Thoor Ballylee are very close to the small town of Gort (Galway County), known for having had a great Brazilian immigration.
