O Que Ver Neste Verão - What to See This Summer

Assim como em toda a Europa, há alguns espetáculos que são apresentados durante o verão aqui em Cork e que valem a pena serem conferidos.
Vimos dois que gostamos muito!

As it happens around Europe, there are some shows which are presented along the summer here in Cork, and are worth seeing.
We watched two shows that we really enjoyed!

PULSES OF TRADITION

Este é um tradicional espetáculo de música e dança irlandesa que se apresenta todos os anos de junho a setembro. E é sensacional!!! Nós fomos no ano passado, poucos dias depois de termos chegado a Cork e gostamos tanto que levamos os meus pais este ano. Eles também ficaram encantados. 

This is a traditional Irish music and dance show which is presented every year from June to September, And it is awesome!!! We went last year, a few days after we had arrived in Cork, and we liked so much that we took my parents this year. They were also delighted. 

Os músicos  são incríveis e a cantora do grupo tem uma voz tão afinada e angelical que vai fazer você levitar!!!

The musicians are incredible and the band's female singer  has a so tuned and angelical voice that it makes you fly!!!

HAIRSPRAY

A Cork Opera House é um dos maiores teatros da cidade. Aqui acontecem peças, shows de todo tipo, musicais e até ópera! Todo verão é apresentado um grande musical ao estilo Broadway. Já tínhamos assistido Grease há alguns meses e quisemos agora conferir Hairspray, baseada num filme de mesmo nome (onde o John Travolta faz o papel da mãe (!) da protagonista). Veja o trailer aqui. 
A história se passa nos anos 60 na cidade de Baltimore. 

Cork Opera House is one of the largest theaters in the city. Here take place plays, shows of all kinds, musicals and even operas! Every summer it is presented a big Broadway style musical. We had already watched Grease a few months ago, and now we decided to check out Hairspray, based on a movie with the same name (where John Travolta plays the main actress' mother role). The story takes place on the 60s at the city of Baltimore.

Uma adolescente  gordinha sonha em participar em um programa de TV de sucesso. Mas tem que enfrentar uma sociedade preconceituosa. Tudo é mostrado de forma leve. A história é só um pretexto para as músicas que são típicas dos anos 60. 

A chubby teenager dreams in participating of a successful TV program. But she has to face a prejudiced society. Everything is shown in a light way. The story is only an excuse for the songs which are typical from the 60s.

No final você vai sair cantarolando as canções que acabou de ouvir.
