Nesta semana completamos dois anos na Irlanda!! Foram anos incríveis!! Obrigada à Irlanda pela acolhida!!! Somos muitos felizes aqui.
E em setembro de 2013 quando chegamos aqui vimos o quanto os irlandeses gostam de apostas. Alguns povoados são mínimos mas as casas de apostas estão sempre presentes. As duas principais são a Paddy Power e a Ladbrokes. Os cassinos também são muito comuns por aqui. Além disso existem as apostas em corridas de cavalos e de cachorros.

E nós tivemos a oportunidade de acompanhar uma destas corridas aqui em Cork mas que também ocorrem em Dublin e em diversas cidades do país.
Nós não somos apostadores e fomos lá para jantar. Mas claro, vimos como tudo acontecia.
O local é o Curraheen Park Greyhound Stadium, Você pode apenas fazer apostas, comer lanches rápidos ou jantar que foi o nosso caso. Das mesas dá para ver a pista. Os garçons passam pelas mesas oferecendo blocos de apostas para as pessoas interessadas. Um som alto como de uma corneta é tocado, as luzes ficam mais baixas e começa a corrida.

A refeição foi muito saborosa. Eu pedi um prato de massa com legumes. O Alex, carne com verduras, de sobremesa uma Bailey's Pie.

Não fizemos nenhuma aposta, para nós foi apenas um jantar. Mas vimos como funciona um típico hábito local.We didn't place any bet, for us it was just a dinner. But we saw how this typical local habit works.
