Epic Ireland-Dublin's New Attraction

EPIC Ireland é a mais nova grande atração da Irlanda e de Dublin, custou €15 milhões e mostra de forma interativa a influência da emigração irlandesa ao redor do mundo, que é gigantesca. Tudo é mostrado de forma interativa e com a utilização de alta tecnologia.
A gente não podia deixar de conferir uma exposição tão interessante e, claro, te levamos conosco para este fascinante passeio.

EPIC Ireland is the most recent big attraction from Ireland and Dublin, the cost was €15 million and it shows in an interactive way the influence of Irish emigration around the world - which is huge. All is shown in an interactive way and using high technology.

We couldn't miss this very interesting exhibition, and of course, we take you with us for this fascinating stroll.

Na entrada já passamos pela "emigration"e a atendente nos da um passaporte para que possamos começar a nossa viagem. São ao todo 20 galerias e a gente vai te mostrar algumas delas neste post. E ao sair de cada sala pode marcar o seu passaporte no aparelho abaixo.

On the entrance we already went through the "emigration", and the recepcionist gives us a Passport so we can start our trip. On total they are 20 galleries and we will show some of them on this post. And when you leave each room you can stamp your passport on the device below.

Na galeria "Leaving the Island" começamos a explorar o espaço.
Esta escultura mostra os diversos meios de transportes usados para partir da Irlanda. A viagem até os EUA chegou a durar 5 semanas.

We started to explore the place at the "Leaving the Island" gallery. This sculpture shows the different means of transportation used to leave Ireland. The trip to the USA lasted up to 5 weeks.

Em "Arriving in a New World" são mostrados 6 casos de emigrantes, suas expectativas, medos, sonhos, e vemos num vídeo como foi a vida delas no novo país.

In"Arriving in a New World" are shown 6 cases of emigrants, their experiences, fears, dreams and we see a video on how their lives were in the new country.

Em "Hunger, Work and Community"a gente começa ter um retrospecto histórico da emigração na Irlanda até os dias de hoje.

In "Hunger, Work and Community" we start to have a historical retrospect of the emigration in Ireland up to the current days.

Na galeria "State and Society" vemos o quão difícil era ser irlandês durante a dominação britânica onde as leis eram tão severas que a maioria dos cidadãos não tinha direito a praticamente nada, Nem mesmo a seguir a sua própria religião e muita gente não via outra saída do que abandonar o país.

At the gallery "State and Society" we see how hard it was to be Irish during the British domination where the laws were so hard most of the citizens basically didn't have any rights. Not even to follow their own religion, and many people didn't see any way out that was not abbandoning the country.

Mas a emigração irlandesa não é apenas tristeza e sofrimento. E o EPIC Ireland mostra como irlandeses e seus descendentes tiveram muito sucesso nos países que foram morar.
Diversos presidentes norte-americanos tem ascendência irlandesa. Então a história dos EUA seria muito diferente do que é hoje se a irlandeses não tivessem emigrado.

But the Irish emigration is not only sadness and suffering. And EPIC Ireland shows how the Irish and their descendants had a lot of success on the countries they went to live.

Several US Presidents had Irish ascendants. So US history would have been quite different if the Irish had not emigrated.

A sala "Discovering and Inventing" é dedicada a contribuição irlandesa em diversas áreas como tecnologia, ciências, etc. Estas luzes são as nossas células cerebrais fazendo sinapse.

The room "Discovering and Inventing" is dedicated to the Irish contribution in several areas like technology, science, etc. These lights are like our own brain cells making sinapse.

"Achieving Infamy" trata sobre os bandidos e ladrões que tinham sangue irlandês e se espalharam pelo mundo.

"Achieving Infamy" is all about the outlaws and thieves who had Irish blood and were spread around the world.

A galeria "Sharing the Tradition" fala um pouco sobre a música e dança irlandeses que influenciaram inúmeros músicos e artistas.

The gallery "Sharing the Tradition" talks a little about the Irish music and dance which influenced several musicians and artists.

Aqui você pode fazer uns passinhos de dança irlandesa, é só seguir as marcações do chão.

Here you can make some Irish dance steps, you just need to follow the marks on the floor.

E claro que não podiam faltar os PUBS. 
Em "Eating and Drinking" temos a reprodução de um PUB tipicamente irlandês inclusive com algumas comidas tradicionais como o stew (guisado). 
E podemos fazer um quizz para ver como estão os nossos conhecimentos sobre o tema. Lá ficamos sabendo que a Guinness é fabricada em 50 países e que existem mais de 3 mil pubs ao redor do mundo com o nome de O'Neill.

Of course we can't miss the PUBS. 
In "Eating and Drinking" we have the reproduction of a traditional Irish PUB, even with some traditions food like the stew. 

And we can take a quizz to see how our information on the theme is. We learned there Guinness is manufactured in 50 countries and that there are more than 3 thousand pubs around the world with the name O'Neill.

"Creating and Designing" é dedicada a pintores e estilistas famosos  como Francis Bacon e Orla Kiely.

E o que seria da Irlanda sem a sua tradição literária que influenciou o mundo todo? Na galeria "Storytelling" você passa por um túnel inspirador cheio de palavras e chega a uma biblioteca onde você pode folhear "livros" sem tocá-los e ouvir trechos de alguns clássicos como "Drácula"de Bram Stocker.

And what would be of Ireland without its literary tradition which influenced the whole world? On the "Storytelling" gallery you will go through an inspiring tunnel full of words and arrive at a library where you can flick "books" without touching them, and listen to some classic ones like "Dracula" from Bram Stocker.

Terminamos a nossa jornada em "Celebration" onde são mostradas as festividades de St. Patricks Day em diversos países.

We finish our journey in "Celebration" where are shown the St. Patricks Day festivals in several countries.
