A Casa Mais Mal-Assombrada da Irlanda - The Most Haunted House in Ireland
Blog Bilíngue / Bilingual Blog
We were driving around Hook Peninsula in County Wexford, when we saw on a leaflet that nearby was the most haunted house in Ireland - and we still had the time to get the last tour, as 6PM. It is Loftus Hall, which is located on the middle of a great green field and very close to the beach.
You will find a coffee shop and a store selling some souvenirs such as T-Shirts.
The house was a private property for many years. On the 90s it was a luxury hotel. It is still possible to see a great staircase on the main hall made of hardwood which reminds Titanic's staircase.

The hotel ended up going bankrupt and today the house is opened for public visitation. Loftus Hall is indeed much studied because of their paranormal activities. There are several documentaries on the Internet where mediums mention some facts which can't be explained. Some figures similar to ghosts have already had their pictures taken by tourists. Have a look at the picture below.
The tour starts outdoors where the guide explains about the past of the house and its former owners. Indoor photos are prohibited. A jovem ficou aterrorizada.
The most known story from Loftus Hall is the one the devil himself would have spent a night there! The Tottenhams and their young daughter were looking after the mansion. On a very stormy night a big ship arrived on the beach and there was only one man, who asked to stay on the house until the weather got better.
The couple took him in and offered a dinner. Along the evening, the decided to play cards and this moment is where the great horror moment takes place. The young daughter called Anne drops some cards on the floor, and when she turns down to pick them up, she saw that the elegant man had hooves and not feet! The young woman was terrorized, and this being, which would be the devil himself, would have transformed into a big ball of fire and escaped through the roof.
This story is played by some tour participants. The ones not participating on the scene wait on a very dark room listening to a piano playing by itself. All the inside on Loftus Hall is badly preserved, paint peeling off and broken. The hole from where the devil would have escaped is still there and could never be repaired according to the guide.
Going back to the card game evening. Young Anne went crazy after this terrible experience. She spent several days on a roll looking through the window of a room called Tapestry Room. She was so disrupted that she refused to leave the room and to eat. She just left the room when she died, on the position she used to be looking through the window. The guide says many tourists feel shivers and strange sensations on this room. And since then, Anne's ghost haunts the house.
The last room to be visited is the chapel, which is in terrible preservation state, giving a very spooky look. There the guide explains some stories that had happened at the chapel. On the middle of the explanation, Alex saw the figure of a woman walking behind the guide (as it it was a holographic image). I was very surprised, because I had not seen absolutely anything like this in the chapel.E então, você se anima a conhecer a casa mais mal-assombrada da Irlanda?
We were puzzled if that could have been some kind of special effect. We send Loftus Hall an E-Mail and asked them if there was some kind of special effect on the room. The feedback was totally negative. No kind of special effect is placed there by the ones in charge of managing Loftus Hall.So do you dare to visit the most haunted house in Ireland?
On Halloween evening channel TV3 will show a documentary with Irish mediums and paranormals trying to figure out Loftus Hall mysteries. Click here and watch a promotional video.

Nooooooooooooossaaaa!
ExcluirEu qeria ir♡♡
ResponderExcluirAdoro essas coisas ^^
Sei lá...
ResponderExcluirNão parece errado fazer dessa casa um ponto turístico?
