Scrumdiddly's Irish Ice Cream

Sempre que vamos para o vilarejo costeiro de Dún Laoghaire víamos enormes filas na frente da Scrumduddly's Irish Ice Cream e nunca nos animamos a enfrentá-las. Mas agora dá para experimentar as delicias da Scumdiddly's aqui em Dublin na loja de departamento Arnotts, na Henry Street. E como aqui as filas são muitos menores finalmente pudemos prová-las. Os copos do tipo desserts custam €5. E realmente prepare-se para comer um enorme sorvete com muitas delicias dentro! Dá uma olhada nas opções que vai encontrar.

Whenever we go to the coastal village of Dun Laoghaire we see huge queues in front of Scrumduddly's Irish Ice Cream, and we were never brave enough to face them. But you can now experience Scumdiddly's delights here in Dublin at the Arnotts department store on Henry Street. And as the queues here are much smaller we have finally been able to prove them. The desserts cup cost €5. And really get ready to eat a huge ice cream with lots of treats inside! Take a look at the options you'll find there.

A gente pediu o Snicker-bockerglory e Twix Fix. São gostosos, mas tão calóricos que são aquelas coisas que devemos comer só de vez em quando. Também dá para escolher o sorvete e coberturas de sua escolha por €3.

We ordered a Snicker-bockerglory and a Twix Fix. They are delicious, but so caloric - they are those things we should only eat from time to time. You can also choose the ice cream and toppings of your choice for € 3.

Teddy's Ice Cream

E pelo jeito Dún Laoghaire é a o lugar dos sorvetes. Ali fica o 99 mais famoso da região. O 99 é um tipo de sorvete de massa branca amado pelo Irlandeses, normalmente vendido em caminhoes vintage que ficam circulando pelos parques e ruas da cidade. Eles estão em toda a Irlanda. O único que você pode escolher é o tipo de cobertura: granulado, calda de morango, palito de chocolate, etc.

And it seems Dún Laoghaire is the place for ice creams. There you can also find the most famous 99 in the area. The 99 is a type of white massed ice cream beloved by the Irish, usually sold on vintage trucks which around parks and streets of the city. They are all over Ireland. The only thing you can choose is the type of topping: sprinkle, strawberry syrup, chocolate stick, etc.

O 99 do Teddy's é igual a qualquer outro. Mas pela tradição do local ( foi inaugurada em 1950), as pessoas enfrentam longas filas para comprar o sorvete daqui.

Teddy's 99 is just like any other. But by the tradition of the place (it was opened in 1950), people face long queues to buy the ice-cream there.

Storm in a Teacup

Skerries é outro vilarejo costeiro muito tranquilo e onde adoramos dar longas caminhadas. Do lado do porto, há uma pequena e fofa sorveteria que fica praticamente no meio da rua e que também vive cheia. Lá você também pode pedir os desserts de sorvete que custam €4.50 como o Banoffe, Oreos Galore e Mucky Mess.

Skerries is another very quiet coastal village and where we love to go for long walks. On the harbour side, there is a small, cute ice cream parlor that is practically in the middle of the street and that is always full. There you can also order the ice cream desserts that cost € 4.50 as the Banoffe, Oreos Galore and Mucky Mess.

A gente preferiu pedir os sabores, queríamos os que eram de favo de mel e passas ao rum com chocolate derretido e pastilhas de chocolate branco de cobertura. A  porção é muito generosa.

We decided to order the ice creams (not the desserts), we wanted the ones with honeycomb and raisins with melted chocolate and white chocolate toppings. The scoops are very generous.

Cloud Nine

Esta sorveteria acabou de inaugurar  e fica no Temple Bar do lado do PUB de mesmo nome. São gelatos italianos feitos a mão, deliciosos e super cremosos. E já que estávamos no Temple Bar decidimos pedir dois sabores com álcool, Irish Whiskey e Irish Coffee. Ambos muitos bons.

This ice cream parlour has just opened and it is in the Temple Bar area next to the pub bearing the same name. They are handmade Italian ice creams - delicious and super creamy. And since we were at Temple Bar we decided to order two flavours with alcohol, Irish Whiskey and Irish Coffee. Both were very good.
