Dublin's City Hall

O frio veio com força total estes últimos dias.  Mas não é por isso que você tem que ficar em casa. Há opções para aproveitar a cidade e passear um pouco e ainda por cima sem pagar nada como a dica que passamos hoje.
A Prefeitura de Dublin fica num lindo prédio da movimentada Dame Street no centro da cidade e que chama a atenção por quem passa por ali.

Dublin City Hall is located on a beautiful building on the busy Dame Street on the city centre, which gets the attention of all who go up or down the street.

O prédio terminou de ser construído em 1779 em estilo neo-clássico e por algum tempo funcionou ali a Royal Exchange de Dublin. Há 10 anos está aberto para visitação pública. A parte administrativa foi transferida para outro prédio e ali são realizados eventos oficiais, exposições, etc.
Ao entrar você já vai ver um grande salão circular imponente. Com grande colunas, esculturas e uma cúpula impressionante.

The building was completed in 1779 in a neo-classical style, and for some time Dublin's Royal Exchange was based there. 
It has been opened for visitation for the last 10 years. The administrative part was transfered to another building, and at this location are made official events, exhibition, etc.
As you enter, you will see a big and imposing round room, with big columns, sculptures and an impressive dome. 

Depois de dar uma volta, vá até o subsolo, onde antigamente ficavam os cofres da cidade e que abriga uma exposição, The Story of the Capital que mostra a história de Dublin desde o seu inicio, em 837 com a chegada dos Vikings até os anos 2000.
Há muita informação interessante, lá você vai ficar sabendo por que Dublin foi fundada duas vezes!

After you walk around it, go to the basement, where some time ago were the city safe boxes, which is now holding an exhibition called "The Story of the Capital", which shows the history of Dublin since the beginning, in 837 with the arrival of the Vikings, up to the years 2000.
There is a lot of interesting information, you will learn there why Dublin was founded twice!

A exposição The Story of the Capital é gratuita até o fim do ano e está aberta de segunda a sábado das 09:00 às 17:15.
The exhibition The Story of the Capital is free up to the end of the year, and is opened from Monday to Saturday from 9AM to 5:15PM.
