Powerscourt House and Gardens
Powerscourt House and Gardens is one of the most visited gardens in Ireland, it's on county Wicklow, a few quilometres from Dublin.
The entrance is by the old house that was reopened in 1996 after a big fire that took place in 1976. Inside you will find several stores, An Avoca coffee shop and and child museum, the Tara's Palace.
As you pass the ticket counter a small map is given to you so you can visit each corner of this huge garden full of attractions. On the backgroung you can admire the Sugar Loaf Mountain.
The first part we have access is the Italian Garden. It is well taken care on the detail and full of lovely sculptures.
This is the Tower Valley. It is possible to climb to the top and see from above the several types of locals trees and plants.
The Japanese Garden is inspired on an Asian place and was created in 1908.
The grotto is one of the oldest parts in Powerscourt.
The Pet Cemetery is one of the most unusual places, it is the biggest pet cemetery in Ireland.
If you want to visit all the park be prepared to walk a lot, because there is a lot to see like the Dolphin Pond, Triton Lake, the walled gardens! And the best on these situations is to see it all very slowly, enjoying each detail.
At Powerscourt you will be able to develop your photographic talent.
Next to the house is the Pavillion Gardens, where you can buy beautiful plants and garden accessories, who knows you are not able to reproduce a garden so beautiful like the one you have just seen.
The Powerscourt House and Garden is inside an area called Powerscourt Estate and on it are a famous golf course, the Hotel Ritz-Carlton and the Powerscourt Waterfall, highest waterfall in Ireland, which we have already shown you in details here.
