A gente continua em clima de Halloween aqui no Welcome to Ireland. E vamos falar sobre filmes de terror irlandeses! Afinal nada mais propicio para a data do que este tipo de produção. Há até uma série de filmes de terror chamada justamente Halloween, onde um jovem foge de um hospital psiquiátrico na noite de Halloween e ataca os moradores de sua cidade natal.

A trilha sonora já é um verdadeiro clássico. Ouça!
Mas voltemos para a Irlanda. Vamos falar de 3 produções recentes.

We continue on the Halloween mood here at Welcome to Ireland. And let´s talk about Irish horror films! Nothing more favorable for the date than this type of production. There is even a horror movie series called precisely Halloween, where a young person escapes from a psychiatric hospital on  Halloween evening and attacks the inhabitants of his home town.
The soundtrack is a real classic. Listen!  

But let's go back to Ireland, and let's talk about 3 recent productions. 

STITCHES

Este é uma produção adolescente que está entre a comédia e o terror. Tudo é tão exagerado, efeitos toscos, que na maioria das vezes você ri. Quem faz o palhaço é o comediante Ross Noble.
Aqui temos um palhaço que vai animar uma festa de um menino de 10 anos. O palhaço morre acidentalmente depois de algumas travessuras das crianças. Seis anos depois o menino, já adolescente, resolve fazer outra festa de aniversário, e claro, o palhaço levanta da tumba e vai se vingar. Todos os clichês desse tipo de filme estão lá. Como o fortão mal encarado, a menina vulgar, o gordão que só pensa em comida....etc, etc. Mas basicamente você vai rir de tanta "palhaçada".

This is a teenager production, which is between comedy and terror. Everything is so exaggerated,  rough effects, which makes you laugh most of the times. The clown is played by the comedian Ross Noble. Here we have a clown that goes to entertain a party of a 10 year old boy. The clown dies accidentally after some tricks played by the children. Six years later the boy, already a teenager, decides to have another birthday party, and of course, the clown raises from his tomb and goes for revenge. All the cliches of this type of film are there. Like the evil-looking strong guy, the vulgar girl, the fat guy who only thinks about food... etc, etc. But basically you are going to laugh a lot of all the drollery.

THE ADDICTED

Esta é uma produção tão fraca com uma história tão mal contada que realmente não recomendo a ninguém. A não ser que você queira ver um filme muito tosco.
Um viciado em drogas se enforca numa clínica de reabilitação depois de se drogar com uma substância dada pelo próprio diretor da clínica! O estabelecimento fecha, fica abandonado e com fama de mal-asombrado. Anos depois, alguns jovens voltam à clínica abandonada para tentar captar os fantasmas que há por alí. Tudo tão ruim e fraco que nem vale a pena.

This is a very weak production and brings a confusing story so I don't recommend to anyone. Unless you want watch a very rough film.
An addicted to drugs hangs himself in a rehab clinic after getting high with a substance given by the clinic director himself! The place closes, get abandoned and with a haunted reputation. Some years later, a few young people go to the abandoned clinic to try to capture the ghosts. Everything is so bad and weak that it is just not worth the time.

THE CANAL

Este filme é o mais recente (de 2014) e o melhor dos três. A história não é lá muito original. Um jovem casal compra uma casa mal-assombrada e com o passar do tempo coisas estranhas não demoram a acontecer. O marido fica viúvo e começa a descobrir que a casa foi cenário de terríveis assassinatos no passado. Apesar de um roteiro tão batido, a história é boa e vai te envolvendo a cada minuto. Se você gosta deste tipo de filme, tente The Canal!!!

This is the most recent (2014) and the best of the three. The story is not very original. A young couple buys a haunted house and as the time goes by, strange things don't take too long to take place. The husband becomes a widower, and starts to find out the house has been the stage of terrible murders in the past. Although having a very beaten script, the story is good, and it gets you involved every minute. If you like this type of film, try The Canal!!!
