Assim que a gente chegou à Irlanda achou estranho o fato de que aqui não existia CEP, código de endereçamento Postal.
E achou mais estranho ainda quando soube que muitas casas e prédios também não tinham número! São identificados pelo nome! E não pense que isso era antigamente, em anos remotos. O prédio em que moramos foi construído em 2010 e não tem número, apenas nome.

When we arrived in Ireland , we found a bit odd the fact there was no postcode here.
As we found even stranger when we learned many houses and buildings also didn't have a number! There are identified by a name! And don't think this was something on the old days. The building we live in was built in 2010, and brings no number, just a name.

Os carteiros e a empresa de correios chamada "An Post" na Irlanda são mutos queridos pela população por que, convenhamos, imagine o que é entregar cartas nessas condições. Apesar da inúmeras dificuldades para entregar encomendas e cartas na Irlanda o profissionalismo e esmero dos carteiros é impressionante e eficaz.
Inclusive há uma rapaz, chamado David Curran, que desafia os carteiros enviando cartas com as mais diversas brincadeiras para ver se a correspondência chega ao destino final. E na maioria da vezes os carteiros entregam pontualmente a carta. Ele coloca o endereço em forma de quebra-cabeças, códigos, palavras cruzadas, etc. E para constatar o quão bom o serviço é, uma das cartas tinha umas brincadeiras tão mirabolantes e não foi entregue no destino. Mas foi devolvida ao endereço do emissário sendo que essa informação não estava na carta!!

The postmen and the postal company called "An Post" in Ireland are very appreciated by the population, and we understand the reason, can you imagine how hard it is delivering letters on this condition? And most of the times postmen deliver the letter on time. He inserts the address like a jigsaw puzzle, codes, crossword puzzles, etc. And to check how good the service is, one of the letters had a very crazy prank and was not delivered at the destination. But it was returned to the sender address, even though this information was not included in the letter!!
