No último post do ano passado a gente sugeriu algumas opções para o Réveillon e uma delas era o New Year Festival de Dublin, evento com 3 dias de duração e com uma programação muito variada.

On the last post of the year we suggested some options for New Year's, and one of them was the New Year Festival de Dublin, 3 day event with a varied agenda.

A gente conferiu alguns desses eventos e claro, te mostramos tudo por aqui!

We have gone to some of these events, and of course we are showing you everything now.

ARTS & MUSIC TRAIL

Apresentações artísticas e musicais gratuitas em diversos locais da cidade.

Free Artistic and musical presentations in several places around the city.

Artistas de Rua / Street Performers 

Dança Irlandesa (não sei como essas meninas não congelaram, as temperaturas nesse momento eram negativas).

Irish Dance (I don't know how these girls didn't freeze, temperatures were below zero at this moment).

E claro muita música, na rua, no correio e no tourist office.

And of course loads of music - on the street, in the post office and on the tourist office.

LUMINOSITY

Projeções em 3D num prédio central de Dublin. Muito bonito mas durou poucos minutos.

3D projections in a central building in Dublin. Very beautiful, but it lasted just a few minutes.

PROCESSION OF LIGHT

Esta procissão teve a participação de centenas e centenas de pessoas. Velas foram distribuídas para a população que seguia alguns artistas.

This procession had the participation of hundreds and hundreds of people. Candles were distributed for the population that followed some artists.

NEW YEAR'S EVE STREET FEST  

O palco estava montado ao lado do Luminosity. A chuva e o frio eram intensos. Não era o melhor dia para um show na rua.

The stage was assembled next to Luminosity. Rain and cold were intense. It was not the best day for a street show.

WORLD RECORD BODHRÁN - SESSION ATTEMPT

Irlandeses adoram Recordes e aqui o objetivo era juntar o maior número de pessoas tocando bodhrán (instrumento típico na Irlanda). Durante o dia este imenso Bodhrán foi instalado no centro para já entrar no clima.

Irish people love Records, and here the objective was to gather the biggest amount of people playing bodhrán (typical Irish instrument). During the day this huge Bodhrán was placed in the city centre so people could get into the mood.

E neste quiosque eram passados os detalhes para a participação das pessoas. E o objetivo foi alcançado! 1500 pessoas compareceram com os seus bodhráns. O recorde anterior era de 900 pessoas

And on this stall  details were given for participating. The objective was reached! 1,500 people were present with their bodhráns. Previous record was 900 people.

THREE COUNTDOWN CONCERT

Este show foi um do grandes momentos do Festival. A gente comprou os ingressos no dia que abriram as vendas e já havia pouquíssimos lugares. Foi na 3 Arena, que a gente ainda não conhecia. Não somos muito de ir a mega shows como esses, então estávamos com um certo receio de enfrentar filas imensas, empurra-empurra e esse tipo de coisas típicas de grandes shows. Felizmente não teve nada disso. Foi tudo absolutamente calmo, sem filas. Uma noite incrível!!

Quem se apresentou primeiro foi a dupla Little Hours.

The show was one of the great moments on the Festival. We bought the tickets on the day sales were opened, and there were just a few places left. It was at 3 Arena, which we had never been before. We are not used to go to mega shows like this, so we were a bit afraid of facing huge queues, pushings and this sort of things of  in big shows. Fortunately there was nothing like that. Everything was totally calm, with no queues. A great evening!
The first to present was the duet Little Hours.

Depois veio a banda Kíla, que mistura de forma impressionante música tipica irlandesa e rock.

After we had the band Kíla, who mixed traditional Irish music with rock in an impressive way.

Ryan Sheridan já é um velho conhecido para quem acompanha o blog, já fizemos um post sobre ele (aqui) e fomos a um show de Ryan aqui em Cork.

Ryan Sheridan is an old acquaintance for those who follow the blog, we have done a post about him (here) and we went to one of Ryan's show here in Cork.

Fatboy Slim é um Dj britânico fantástico. E fez uma homenagem ao Brasil tocando batucada com música eletrônica.

Fatboy Slim is a fantastic British Dj. He honored Brazil playing some samba beats with electronic music.

E o grand finale foram os The Coronas.  Este quarteto vem fazendo um tremendo sucesso e o 3 Arena veio abaixo com o eletrizante show.

The grand finale were The Coronas.  This quartet is making a huge success and the 3 Arena got really excited with this amazing show.

E claro à meia noite não faltou a contagem regressiva e muito papel picado.

At midnight there was the countdown and a lot of confetti.

Foram mais de 5 horas de show. Uma noite inesquecível. Como uma boa noite de Réveillon deve ser.

The show lasted more than 5 hours. It was an unforgetful night. As a good New Year's Even need to be.

 No dia primeiro também havia uma diversificada programação a gente inclusive chegou a cogitar em fazer uma corrida de 5K. Mas o dia foi terrivel!!! Chuva torrencial e fortes ventos durante todo o dia.

On the first day of the year there was also a varied agenda, we even considered running a 5K race. But the day was awful! Strong rain and wind during the whole day.

HANDEL'S MESSIAH

A apresentação Messiah de Handel ia ser ao livre! Claro que com as péssimas condições climáticas isso não seria possível. Então o local foi mudado para a Igreja Presbiteriana de Abbey - Findlater's, que fica perto de onde seria o evento originalmente.

The performance Messiah de Handel was going to be outdoors! Of course due to the bad weather conditions it was not going to be possible. So the pace was changed to the Abbey - Findlater's Presbyterian Church, which is close to where the event was going to happen originally.

O NYF Dublin foi incrível!! Com uma programação variada e muito bem organizado. O tempo não ajudou muito. Mas OK, estamos na Irlanda!

NYF Dublin was incredible, with a varied agenda and very well organized. Weather didn't help much, but it is OK, we are in Ireland!
