English Market & The Cobblestone

Lovin Dublin é um site muito bacana que traz muitos textos sobre a capital irlandesa, obviamente e também sobre todo o país. 
A característica principal é que os temas são abordados de forma muito descontraída. Como se alguns amigos se reunissem e escrevessem sobre tudo o que gostam.
Recentemente publicaram uma lista de 33 Coisas que você deve fazer na Irlanda Antes de Morrer. Claro que essas listas costumam ser bastante arbitrárias pois dependem do gosto da pessoa que escreve. 
Mas é sempre bom dar uma olhada nelas e fazer notas mentais de lugares que ainda queremos conhecer. Como as distâncias são relativamente curtas na Irlanda é só se programar e facilmente você chega no lugar desejado.
Dois locais que gostamos muito estão nesta lista e é sobre eles que vamos falar neste post.
Vamos a eles!

Lovin Dublin is a very nice site which brings several texts about the Irish capital (obviously) and also about the whole country.
The main feature is that some themes are approached in a very easygoing way, just like some friends got together and wrote about all they liked.
They recently published a list of the 33 Things you should do in Ireland before you die. Of course these lists are usually very arbitrary because they are up to the the taste of the person writing about it.
But is is always good having a look at them and making mental notes on the places we still want to visit. Once the distances are relatively short in Ireland, you just need to get organized and can easily arrive at the place you want.
Two places we really liked are on this list and it is about them we will be writing on this post.

ENGLISH MARKET

Este mercado é um dois mais bacanas da Irlanda e não pode deixar de ser visitado,  foi inaugurado em 1788 e oferece os melhores alimentos de produtores locais como frutas, vegetais, carnes, pães, queijos e muito mais.

This market is one of the nicest in Ireland, and you should not miss it. It was opened in 1788 and offers the best food from local producers like fruits, vegetables, meat, bread, cheese and a lot more.  

No andar de cima fica o Farmgate Cafe onde você pode fazer refeições diversas como Fish & Chips, carnes, peixes e até pratos bem típicos de Cork como o Tripe & Drisheen que a gente já te mostrou aqui.

On the upper floor is the Farmgate Cafe where you can have different meals like Fish & Chips, meat, fish and even very typical dishes from Cork like the Tripe & Drisheen which we have already shown here.

E também é um ótimo local para tomar um bom café, chá ou lanches como bolos, sopas e sanduíches. As sopas variam diariamente, estas da foto são duas muito típicas: batata com alho poró e Sea Food Chowder. Para saber mais sobre este tipo de sopa clique aqui. 

It is also a great place to have a good coffee, tea or snacks like cakes, soups and sandwiches. Soups vary daily, the ones on the photo are two very typical: potatoes with leeks and Sea Food Chowder. To know more about this type of soup click here.

E um sanduíche que a gente recomenda pois tem o sabor de Cork é o que leva Spiced Beef, um tipo de carne preparado tradicionalmente para o período da Natal mas que pode ser encontrado durante todo o ano no English market, lembra muito o sabor do Pastrami e é preparado com um molho picante de mostarda e folhas verdes.

And a sandwich we recommend because it brings Cork's flavour is the one taking Spiced Beef, a kind of meat prepared traditionally for the Christmas period, but it can be found all day long at the English Market. It reminds Pastrami's flavor, and it is prepared with a spicy sauce of mustard and green leaves.

THE COBBLESTONE

Outro lugar citado na lista feita pelo Lovin Dublin é o The Cobblestone em Smithfield, Dublin e que aos poucos estamos conhecendo.

Another place mentioned on the list made by Lovin Dublin is The Cobblestone in Smithfield, Dublin which we are getting to know little by little.

Este é o típico PUB irlandês, ambiente informal e extremamente amigável. É administrado pela familia Mulligan há 5 gerações e por lá há boa música tradicional irlandesa 7 dias por semana.
O lugar é pequeno. Então é sempre bom chegar cedo.

This is the typical Irish PUB, informal environment and extremely friendly. It has been ran by the Mulligan family for the last 5 generations, and around there is good traditional Irish music 7 days a week. The place is small, so it is good to arrive early.

Aos fundos há o The Back Room, uma pequena sala onde acontecem apresentações musicais sempre de qualidade. Algumas são gratuitas.
Ontem foi o show de lançamento do novo CD do cantor e guitarrista Robert Doyle, que cantou quase todas as músicas em gaélico.

In the back there is the The Back Room, a small room where quality musical presentations take place. Some are free.
Yesterday was the show to release the new CD from the singer and guitar player Robert Doyle, who sang almost all songs in Irish (Gaelic).
