The Tram Cafe
We read in a few newspapers a charming coffee shop had just opened in Dublin in an old tram, The Tram Cafe. And once we loved the proposal, we went there to check this new space.O bonde foi construído na Filadélfia (EUA) em 1902. Ficou em funcionamento quase toda a sua vida útil em Portugal e depois foi parar em um museu no País de Gales. Por algum motivo desconhecido estava abandonado aqui na Irlanda.
The owner felt in love with the old tram which was abbandoned on Cavan county. Little by little he found out who owned it and decided to buy it and make a charming vintage café in it. The tram was built in Philadelfia (USA) in 1902. It worked most of its working life in Portugal, and later it went to a museum in Wales. By some unknown reason, it was abbandonned here in Ireland.O The Tram Cafe não poderia ser mais acolhedor. A decoração, a música do início do século passado...
We spoke briefly with the owner who with a great smile and very proud showed us some pictures on the tram's renovation which are exposed in the interior. The Tram Cafe couldn't be more charming. The decoration, the music from the beginning of last century...
O café estava muito bom e pedimos um pão de banana com bacon que surpreendeu o nosso paladar.
An excellent place to relax. But once we went by the end of the day, there were not many options left. Coffee was great and we ordered a banana bread with bacon, which surprised our taste.
A praça é onde foi um antigo cemitério, da janela do bonde ainda se podem ver algumas velhas lápides.
The Tram Cafe is located on Wolfe Tone Square, in Dublin 1, close to Jervis Shopping. The square was an old cemetery, from the tram's windows you can still see some old graves.
