O Ano Novo na Irlanda - New Year in Ireland

Já falta muito pouco para a chegada de 2016!
E na Irlanda normalmente não se comemora com grandes festas de arromba e shows pirotécnicos. A maioria dos irlandeses não dá muito bola para a virada do ano e para os diversos rituais  que são realizados em muitos países como comer uvas e vestir roupas brancas.

And in Ireland you usually don't celebrate with huge parties and fireworks. Most Irish don't give much importance to the year change and to the several rituals made in many countries like eating grapes and dressing white cloth.

No primeiro ano em que passamos a data aqui em Cork, em 2013, fomos a um hotel com cardápio especial e depois do jantar, música ao vivo. À meia-noite houve apenas a contagem regressiva e a banda desejou um "Happy New Year" e a música continuou normalmente.
Mas se você está querendo festejar a data há algumas boas opções.

In the first year we spent the date here in Cork, in 2013, we went to a hotel with a special menu, and after dinner, live music. At midnight, there a just the countdown and the band wished a Happy New Year, and the music continued as it was before.
But if you want to celebrate the date there are a few good options.

A cidade de Dublin terá um festival de 3 dias para receber o ano novo. Há muitas atividades programadas para os dias 30, 31 e 1 de janeiro. Muitas são gratuitas como Procession of Light e o Luminosity - projeções de 3D em alguns prédios da cidade.

Dublin City will have a 3 day festival to receive the new year. There will be several scheduled activities for the 30th, 31th of December and 1st of January. Many are free like the Procession of Light and the Luminosity  - 3D projections in some building of the city.
