Doneraile Wildlife Park
Ireland is full of amazing parks! And the Doneraile Wildlife Park is Ireland's third most visited (unpaid) tourist attraction.
There are more than 160 hectares of close contact to the nature. The park was designed by the very famous English architect Lancelot Brown, better known as Capability Brown, considered the father of English gardening.
Brown was dedicated to make the design of the rich and aristocrats of his era, and developed a style of his own. From what I have been able to research on this style of landscaping he gives the immediate impression of naturalism, that everything there was created by nature and not by man.
Returning to the park, which is in County Cork - both the parking and the entrance to the park are free.
There are several options of tracks. In the photo below we can see 3 that vary from 5.3 Km to 2.2 Km. All in excellent condition.
At Doneraile Park you will find many deer grazing in a large area of the park. There are also ducks in the lakes.
Walking around is so enjoyable that you do not even notice. The immense trees, the feeling of total tranquility, the pure air ...
This trunk of a fallen tree became a bench.
This large building is the former Court of Doneraile (small village with the same name of the park) that in the future will be opened to public visitation.
Next to the Court is the Tea Room - with outdoor and indoor tables. There are several choices of sandwiches, ice creams, coffees and pastries.
Dogs are allowed there.
There is a play ground for the little ones to play. In addition to bathrooms and space for picnics.
Doneraile is a beautiful park that will please every lover of green spaces and nature.
